As you know, ProSource is an ISO9001:2008 certified company. We are constantly working to improve what we do here and thusly have achieved the AS9100C certificate this year. We are very excited to be working with TMAC to solidify our ISO9001:2008 certificate as well as our new AS9100C certificate, and to continually improve everything we do here at ProSource. With TMAC we are improving everything we do from our quality inspections to staff and operator training. Tim Hissam – VP Operations

Tim Hissam started at ProSource in 2004 as an hourly employee and since then has become a key component to our success. Tim was promoted to V.P. of Operations in May of this year. He and his team have established a process based manufacturing plant by using lean manufacturing concepts modeled after DFT (Demand Flow Technologies), which has enabled higher production efficiencies allowing us to compete with China and Mexico. He is currently heading up the AS9100C Management System Integration. This integration will open up opportunities to manufacture wire and cables assemblies for the prime contractors in the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defense markets. Tim Hissam has also completed many industry related courses such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Training, Demand Flow Technologies Training and has been a certified Trainer for WHMA-A-620.

TMAC Partnership

TMAC (Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center) is part of the MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) which is partially funded by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). TMAC’s goal is to increase efficiencies to improve Texas manufacturing. ProSource worked with TMAC to acquire the AS9100C certification to open up new opportunities in new industries. ProSource was able to become certified in less than a year with the help of Mike White at TMAC. After lots of hard work, the implementation of the AS9100C standard is already paying off. ProSource has been able to increase on-time delivery, improve internal quality ratings, reduce customer returns, as well as analyze and act on potential risks.

Quality Certifications

ProSource Industries has been certified and still is certified to the ISO9001:2008 standard as well as its earlier versions. ProSource believes that a strong management system is the foundation of success. ProSource Industries recently acquired an additional certification called AS9100C for Aviation, Space and Defense. The AS9100C is an overlap of the ISO 9001:2008 standard but commands additional requirements such as, risk management, configuration management and project management.

The additional requirements of the AS9100C standard have elevated the ProSource Industries Management System to heights the organization has never seen before. Dozens of measurable objectives are in place to constantly monitor the effectiveness of a process as well as the effectiveness of the Management System. Monthly operational reviews are held with Top Management and Mike White, a member of TMAC (Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center) to drive continual improvement. Everything that is manufactured at ProSource Industries is built with the intent of the product going into an airplane, whether it is or not.
